Several years ago, my wife gifted me these lovely story dice in my Christmas stocking. For a visual thinker like me, they’re great tools for busting through writer’s block and story ruts.
This year, after a pandemic-induced creativity slump in high gear for far too many months, I’ve decided to use them to get me into a renewed and revamped writing practice.
The challenge: each week I’ll pick three of the nine dice at random and roll them out. The resulting roll will be my story prompt. By Saturday afternoon, I’ll post a new piece of flash fiction here on the site – no more than 1500 words.
If I keep this up, I’ll have fifty new short-short stories to share with you all before the year is out.
AND NOW…
This week’s randomized story prompt:

Interesting first roll. I’ll see y’all Saturday with a brand new story.
